RYDA

RYDA helps young people become safer and more responsible drivers and passengers.

Each year, Year 11 students from high schools across the Burdekin spend a day at the Burdekin College of TAFE in Home Hill taking part in the program.

Through practical activities and presentations by local volunteer teachers and police officers, students learn to recognise risks, make thoughtful decisions and understand the responsibilities that come with driving or travelling with friends.

The number of road accidents involving young people in the district has reduced since RYDA began.

The Rotary Club of Ayr is proud to support this valuable local initiative and its contribution to a safer Burdekin community.
